Who am I?
My name is RJ Korvemaker, also known around as Chubbs. Currently I'm 23 years old, and reside in the small city of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, though I grew up in Edmonton. Why Chubbs you ask? Well, years ago a friend actually gave me the nick name, originally as an Insult if I remember right, but never the less the name stuck, and I happen to like it.
I took up chainmaille back in early 2007, soon after I was bit by the maille bug and knew this was something I wanted to do. Shortly after learned how to coil and saw my own rings with a jewelers’ saw, I jumped into the more precious metals. I love working with Silver and Niobium, but will work in a large variety of metals. Recently I’ve started to do a lot of weave with German silver, Copper, and Yellow Brass. Each color on their own is nice, but they also blend wonderfully together for 2 or 3 tone weaves.
I’m always happy to do custom work, as this is where creativity really comes into play. With close to 1000* possible weaves and over a dozen different metals the possibilities are limitless.
